Top 4 Tips for Business Travel Right Now

While things are slowly opening up, travel is still not quite what it used to be. Most airlines and airports around the world are understaffed, there are many delays, flight cancellations and general hassles as everything gets going again. Whether you travel once a month or once a year for business, there are a few tips that can make your travel go much more smoothly. Keep reading to learn my top 4 tips for business travel right now.

1. Pack a Change of Clothes in Your Carry On
I’ve had so many friends and family members experiencing lost luggage lately. It’s understandable with so many airports and airlines short staffed, but it can completely ruin a business trip! I always try to pack a few changes of clothes in my carry on luggage, so no matter what happens I can get by. If you’re attending business meetings or need to be dressed in a certain way, make sure that you include those clothes in your luggage too. Unfortunately any bottles of wine you buy from Two Vintners will have to go in your checked bags, but taking some clothes in your carryon will mean you have more space for an extra bottle or two.

2. Upgrade Your Travel
Wherever possible, upgrade your travel so it’s more comfortable. Whether the company you work for is generous enough to pay for business travel flights or prefers to work with best private jet companies, the more comfortable you can be, especially when flying long haul, the better. You want to arrive in your destination feeling well rested, energised and ready to hit the ground running. There are a number of benefits to upgraded or private flights, but my favourite beyond the extra space is the fact I can board early and get an extra half an hour’s work done while the rest of the plane boards. Some private jet companies will also utilize products such as 20W50 Aviation Oil to maintain optimal performance of the aircraft, along with other necessary maintenance checks to ensure the flight goes as smoothly as possible.

3. Plan Extra Time
More flights are delayed right now than usual, and if you’re really unlucky you may have a flight or two cancelled. You’re going to want to plan extra time so that you have more time to make connections, so that if you miss your first flight then you don’t necessarily end up missing the second. I would also suggest arriving a few days before an event or meeting you need to make, so if your flights are cancelled or delayed you have a little extra time to get there before the important meeting.

4. Go Fully Charged
There’s a pretty good chance you might experience a delay, and it could even be on the plane once you’ve already boarded. Not every plane has charging ports, so I always suggest ensuring your electronics are fully charged especially before a longer flight. Most airports have charging stations, or if you grab a bite to eat ask the restaurant staff if they can help you connect your phone somewhere to charge it. You’ll feel more confident knowing you’ll arrive at your destination with a phone that’s fully charged and ready to go.
