Considering Selling This Blog… Opinions Please…

ok guys..

so here it is, I have been inactive on this blog and the blogosphere for about 3 weeks now, partly because I was overseas but also because I honestly do not have the desire or passion anymore. I have been working 10 hours days building and the last thing I want to do is come home and spend a couple of hours blogging - I just want to sleep!

I know this blog has a heap of potential and I would hate to see that go to waste, I mean I am sitting on about 180 subscribers, the blog is making about $80-100 a month, and in its peak was averaging 400-500 unique views a day.

I would love to see someone take this blog and really make something of it, I just know at the moment that it isn’t me who will do it.

I don’t know how I am going to sell it - whether it be just private offers from readers, or a DP or sitepoint auction, but I would love your opinions!

In regards to price I have put a heap of effort into this blog and I would like to get some compensation for the work that I have done so am hoping for high $xxx and would love about $1000 - but I guess the market will judge the price.

Hi Tom,

I’m sad to see you’re selling this blog. I guess this would go for mid $xxx to high $xxx, but you might get someone who’s willing to pay low $xxxx for it. I suggest heading over to SitePoint as I’ve heard DP is no good if you’re looking for a decent price for your site.

Tom,
Nice and honest. I’m just wondering, because I started a blog about 6 months ago. I’m not even close to have this kind of traffic. I do it more by passion. Anyway. It would be nice if you do a detailed post about the traffic (by refferal etc…) income from this blog (by affiliate program etc..). It would help to decide people more quickly to buy this blog, if they see where is the possibility to develop some more…

I can honestly say that this blog is over once it is sold. Tom, you have great talent in this arena. I truly felt like a valued subscriber. I think that $1000-$2000 is a waste for this theme/content. Whatever, if I had 1k I would buy it but too bad.

It seems that so many blogs are not sticking these days. Could be because all the niches have become saturated and you really have to have something special to stand out!

Many people are losing their motivation! I have sold off a number of my blogs, I am still considering selling: http://www.fantasyfootballguru.co.uk

As someone who saw this baby born, I am sorry to hear that you have decided to quit blogging.

As I told you privately before, I think that you have a great potential in this business.
You have come a long way in a very short time with this blog.

Nevertheless, I can also understand the motives behind such a decision and truly respect them.

One thing for sure is that you should not sell this blog under 1000$ - 1200$ if it is making 100$ a month.

It was a great pleasure to work for you and with you.
