Blog Flipping Challenge. Anyone Interested?

blog-moneyI just wanted to send out a quick notice to all my readers, letting them know of something that I have been brewing up through my email list.

Having just come off the back of a $750 blog sale, I am ready to kick it up a notch and I am wanting a limited number of you to come on the journey with me.

What I am proposing is a Blog Flipping Challenge, where we  will each create and work on our own blogs to flip but will also work together sharing our knowledge and expertise to benefit the group as a whole. I already have 7 people who are interested in being a part of the challenge and I am looking for maybe 3 or 4 more – and that is it (so be quick if you are interested).

Here is a few excerpts of the email I send to those interested, that will fill you in on what I’m looking at launching:

Blog Flip Challenge Vision:
To see a small selection of bloggers working on their own individual blogs but helping each other to achieve long term success – resulting in a
successful blog sale (or the decision to keep the blog to further develop).

Elements Of The Blog Flip Challenge:

  • You Will Develop Your Own Blog

This is the main element of the challenge. We will all be working on our own individual blog. Does this mean we have to go and start a brand new one from scratch? No. If you are like me, you are sure to have a stockpile of domains or blogs that have been put on the back burner and you are free to use these – I will be using www.FranchiseBuzz.com.au which I purchased just a couple of weeks ago but had already been put aside.

  • You Will Commit To Being A Team Player

The way this challenge will work is if we all work together. I don’t want to be the only one giving advice and tips to help other bloggers (don’t worry, I will be trying to get at least one email out a week with information and tips on the current stage most blogs are at, at that time). This is a give and take relationship.

  • 6 Month Time Frame (Open For Discussion)

I decided on a time frame of 6 months for this challenge for 2 main reasons.

    1. We Are Aiming For Quality
You cannot create quality overnight and if we are wanting to get a premium price for our blog flip then we need to be willing to put the required time and effort into the blog.
    2. A Lot Of Us Work Full-Time
Time is something that is limited for a lot of us and when it all comes down to it, our job must come first (until we are making enough online to quit), so the 6 month time frame gives us time to build a quality blog while working full-time.

  • Goal Setting

We will be setting both long-term and short term goals, that will be sent to each member of the group for accountability and for encouragement. I have come to realise that when we write our goals out, we are much more likely to achieve them. This means we will be setting goals for the full six months, as well as goals for each individual month that comes.

Our goals will include things such as, content, traffic, marketing and income.

I think that gives you a good overview of how I see the Blog Flip Challenge, and to give you an example of what I am expecting from the blog I will be flipping, I am aiming for a monthly income of $400+ a month at the end of the six months and a sale price of over $3,000.

Does It Cost?

No it doesn’t. This is something that I want to do to give back to the StandOutBlogger community, and I see it as a great way of collaborating without all being invested in the same project. Depending on the success of this challenge, I will consider running more in the future and cannot guarantee that it will continue to be a free service.

    Tom,

I had to deliberate for a couple days before I expressed an interest. Blog flipping is something that I’m quite interested in as one form of “semi-passive” income and I’ve been actively exploring it in the last couple months.

I’m in the process of branding my 4 main websites and some mini-sites so the worry of having too much on my plate was a major consideration.

The bulk of my branding has been done and I’m almost in a routine mode for blogging on my 4 main sites. Given the 6 month window, weekly post and communication requirements – well there is no time like the present…sooooo, count me in.

Will have to give it some thought this week on what site I want to use or if I start fresh.
