I have to disagree with this post as you can create a blog and do NONE of that if you are a “SOMEBODY” :D

Hmm, you’ve got some valid points if it’s about niche blogs. Some of the most profitable blogs online are about nothing in particular and solves no problems.

“You Ignore Negative Feedback On Your Blog” I don’t know if it’s just me and my light sensitive eyes but your blog’s main page makes my eyes hurt. Kind of annoying because I rather like what you write.

Melvin – glad you liked it! Thanks

Mike – that is definately true! If only we were all somebodies :D

Donace – An about pageis important. But sticking to your topic is up to you.

Ragnar – Yea, it really does depend on the type of blog that you have! And thankyou for your comments on my home page. What is it about my main page that makes your eyes hurt? The colour or the layout itself?

These reasons obviously lead to failure. Some of the above reasons are nowadays ignored by bloggers. Great post Tom :)

Nice list! I fail to understand how people can’t take care of some super basic stuff like spellings and formatting!

Slightly disagree with the “All-In-One-SEO Plugin” point. I personally feel the HeadSpace plugin is more powerful – although “All-In-One-SEO Plugin” is better for beginners.

And in any case, I wholeheartedly agree with the spirit of the point – everyone needs some method to tweak post title / description / slug / etc.

Blog SEO Expert – I have never heard of HeadSpace so thanks for letting me know! I will have to go and check it out. But the point was to at least spend some time of SEO for your blog.

These are very great tips for people to follow and understand the reasons why their blogs are failing. Just added you to my Twitter since you added me already. Thanks!

Decent post friend! I’d add not responding to reader comments to this list. Something you seem to do very well! Many times the blog comes alive in the post comments, and if the author’s not involved you wonder how much they care. Interested to hear your comments. Thanks

    Salwa – Thank you

Kevin – Thanks for following me on twitter. DM me at anytime if you need me :D

Affiliate Failure – Responding to comments is very important in building a community around your blog – great point!

    hi
Yeah, I wish you would have gotten the money quote correct the first time around. Good job by the people who made the correction. And great Friedman video, Jay!

Maybe another Bible quote, this one from Jesus, can help. This is from Matthew 6:24 (NIV):

“No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”

So, nothing necessarily wrong with capitalism or money … but there is something wrong with the LOVE of money … putting your desire for money ahead of God. I also would say don’t put money ahead of family … and I’m sure each of you have your own things you wouldn’t put in second place to money
