There are several controversies on Alexa ranking @ different forums saying that it can be faked & some of them not agreeing it.Of course its haven’t been proved.Anyways apart from ranking alexa provides various info.I mainly use the keywords feature only. I never cared to look at demographics.Shall start looking it now.

I used Alexa tool too and while my alexa rank looks good at 89K, I too take it with a pinch of salt and never got too excited about it. In fact I thought more of it as ego boosting :-) I have never checked on the demographics until I read this post. That's really interesting and I didn't know it existed.So near and yet so far. The only thing I look on Alexa is the page traffic rank. But now that you’ve shared here an important tool, I’m definitely going to study my demographics. Thanks for this valuable info, I’m a newbie in this field. :-)

Alexa rank is importent for some blog owners as people who want to advertise or buy links will always want to check out their Alexa rank. It may not be %100 accurate, but it still is useful.

I find the Alexa rankings to pretty much match up to other ranking tools such as the internal tracking I use on my site
