Just Start Blogging Already!
The first step to becoming a Stand Out Blogger is to look at the path that is ahead of you, fix your eyes on your destination (where you see yourself being in the long term) and mapping out the path you will have to take to get there.
As you map out your route, you are sure to see some stumbling blocks along the way that will try and stop you from achieving the success that you desire. These things are set in place to make you fail – and you have to be aware of them so that you can side step the stumbling block like Christiano Ronaldo skins his opposition, leaving your problem wondering what hit him.
So I just want to start you off, by making you aware of 1 simple thing, that most of you will probably laugh at, but the truth is that it stops so many potential bloggers from being successful – and it is the first roadblock that everyone wanting to blog has to face.
JUST START BLOGGING!
A no-brainer right? You would think so, but you have no idea how many people on forums talk about how they would love to make money blogging, or how they have this amazing niche, or idea that will allow them to create a blog like no other – but it never happens.
Some times it’s because they listen to other peoples negativity. When people tell them that their idea sucks or they will never make it, they get discouraged and give up. Now I’m not saying don’t listen to constructive criticism, but if you think your idea is a winner then just go for it!
Then other times people just seem to being waiting for everything to be perfect before they start. They are waiting for the perfect time, or just more time. They are waiting til they finish their amazing blog theme, or a killer logo – like that is going to be the ‘be-all-and-end-all’ of their blogs success. Others are waiting until they become and expert in a field, when there are so many readers that would love to follow your journey to becoming an expert.
There are so many excuses that people make, when all they have to do is jump in the deep end and start swimming – and if you don’t know how to, then you are sure to learn quick.
Of course you will make mistakes, but everyone does. I’m sure you will have people tell you that your blog sucks, even the probloggers like John Chow, Problogger and Shoemoney have people tell them that. So don’t put it off any longer. Start blogging today!

I hope you have enjoyed this first post as much as I did writing it. If you did, would you consider subscribing to the feed or via email – so that you wont miss a single post!

It’s true that there will never be a better time than now. Tom, I wish you success with this blog.
Will be back to see what you have in store.
Cracking post. Too many people worry about problems before they jump and consequently never do so.
Great post! Subscribed to your feed.
Wow, this is the first time I’ve seen someone subscribe to a site with a single post.
Sign off with envy..
I can see you are one of the people in the MMO niche, and this defiantly isn’t your first website. One killer post can start you off well. I can foresee into the future how this blog will turn out, in a month or so there will probably be a contest or something. This is ;like my friend Mark at monkeyblogger.com
It is true how you need to jump out there and start, and that leads to success.
Though I like the theme, you might consider changing for it is really popular. Lucky for you I will probably be visiting here again sometime.
Hi Nathaniel.
Yea it’s not my first blog in the niche, but I am going to try and shy away from contests this time. They did ok for my last blog but I want quality readers who have subscribed for the sole purpose that they care about what I have to say.
And about the theme, it is just there as I get my new one coded. I just wanted to start blogging. Supposedly the design is going to take about 3-4 to code, so it should be up by next week!
Well. I am looking forward to the coming content, and the funny thing is, Yesterday I was going to refer you to BP(Blog Premiere), but I was on there and I see you found it. (Plugins, that was one of your threads). How did you find BP and me and others?
I have been networking with Jason for a while now. We did a big blog competition together. And he let me know about BlogPremiere.com. Looks like a great forum, and im looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Nice to see you are back 2 blogging again Tom;)
I have “closed” down my english blog to try out the norwegian market, and so far my norwegian blog got more money in than my english one.
But I will keep the english one up for a while longer, since I still get money from it:p
Im adding this site to my RSS when I come home from work:)
This point is spot on…so many people wait for this that or the other thing and then something else will come up to wait for. At some point you have to just say “screw, it i’m starting now” and just go for it. You can always correct and fix things later if they’re not perfect. Also, if everything isn’t right the first day or two, hardly anyone will notice anyway.
