How To Get Indexed By Google In Under 4 Hours!
As I mentioned yesterday in my ‘How I Sold My Niche Site‘ I shared some details on my brand new niche site…
I did this partly because I wanted to let you all know because I was so excited about this new site, but my main reason was to test and see how quickly a reputable blog could help a new domain get indexed by Google.
So basically, I was doing some experimenting and today I want to share the results (including screen shots) – but I am guessing that you can already see the success that this experiment was.
What It ‘Indexing’?
Search engine indexing, more specifically Google indexing, is when your website first gets ‘found’ by a search engine and is put in their database. The reason we want our niche sites to get indexed by Google is because you cannot start to ranking for keywords in the organic search results – until your website has been indexed by Google.
How Can You Check That Your New Site Is Indexed?
When you purchase a new domain and you start building your content around a keyword (or a couple of keywords), there is the temptation to just keep checking in Google for that keyword – to see if you start ranking. This is ‘checking if you are ranking’ not ‘checking if you are indexed’.
The easiest way to check to see if you new niche site has been indexed is to visit Google and type in your full domain and include it in quotation marks.
For example:

And that is where my journey started at 7:06am yesterday as I was just finalising my latest blog post on StandOutBlogger.
Google Loves Blogs
Google is always looking for new, fresh content – which is why it seems that Google has a love affair with blogs.
Once you build your blog to a certain level, you will notice that your blog posts start to get indexed almost instantly – and you can get some great rankings for long-tail keywords, before you even think about link building.
That is why I wanted to test this indexing strategy out, because I figured that if Google indexed a post almost instantly, then it would be fair to say that it would follow through the links on that post (and hopefully also index the new niche blog that I was linking too.
I’ve Always Had Trouble Trying To Get Indexed By Google Quickly
I’ll be the first to admit, that getting indexed quickly has never been a strong point of mine.
Here Is What I Tried On Previous Sites:
-
Forums For Indexing
All the research I did on Google told me to visit a high traffic forum, put the new site in my signature and make some posts. So I changed the signature in my DigitalPoint account and became extra ctive on their that day.
Result: Indexed In A couple Of Days
-
Blog Commenting For Indexing
The strategy here is to find high traffic, popular blogs (preferably ‘do-follow’) and comment on their latest post. This strategy has definitely been a hit or miss with me. Some sites get indexed, while others don’t.
Result: Mixed Results
-
Social Media For Indexing
Another one of the ways that a lot of people promote for almost instant indexing is social media. Submit your site to Digg and get indexed in 24 hours. I tried this using OnlyWire, which submits not only to Digg, but also about 15-20 other social media sites. And after not getting indexed in a couple of days, I reverted back to method one.
Result: Failed…
How To Get Indexed By Google In Under 4 Hours – The Blog Method
My new method that I proved to work yesterday is super simple.
If you have a blog that gets it’s new blog posts indexed quickly – then obviously Google give it some decent weight when it comes to content.
Just drop a link to your new website (that you want indexed) into you new blog posts (on the quickly indexing blog) and and then wait a couple of hours to check to see if you have been indexed.
My Google Indexing In Picture Format:
7:06am: Pre-Indexing

As you can see by the image, my new domain is not being found in Google as of 7:06 am on the 21st of December (Yesterday).
7:37am: Blog Post Indexed

I got a little bit sidetracked and forgot to check how quickly my post got indexed. Luckily for me Google was able to tell me that it got posts 4 hours prior to my search at 11:37am – which make it’s indexing time around 7:37am (or basically 15-20minutes after posting)!
11:35am: New Niche Site Get’s Indexed By Google
And there you have it. My new niche site is already indexed in Google and now all I have to do is to start getting it ranking…
What It Is Already Ranking???
About an hour after it had gotten indexed in Google (when I had finished gloating), I decided it was time to set up a new project in Market Samurai – to check my keyword rankings over the coming months.
I added the domain and keyword and this is the result that I got: (Remember this is just one hour after it got indexed)
Now obviously I am not expecting any search traffic from those results, but it is definitely a great starting point.
So that is how to get indexed by Google in under four hours. And a fantastic little kick start for a niche blog. If you have had any great indexing results, I would love for you to share them in the comments below.

Ping’O'Matic and other pinging services can hasten the speed of your site indexing, I had a site up and indexed within an hour with setting a robots.txt file and using Pingoat too.
I have not personally tried Market Samurai yet and it was one product I was curious about testing.

@Lisa – Thanks! I wanted to make sure that I took screen shots (and almost forgot one) – because although I know I was telling the truth, there is always disbelief when things like this are not shown.
@Justin – See, there you go. I knew that a lot of people had different strategies for getting their sites indexed and it is good to see that you’ve found one that works for you (and one hour is a GREAT result!).
You should give Market Samurai a try (they have a free 12 day trial). It’s something that has made the majority of aspects of my niche sites a whole lot easier.

It is indeed a very good method; only downside you may not want to “announce” the site.
The key alt I find is a quick anchored comment on a new post ;) leverage a quick indexed blog.

i found using the webmaster tools are critical to getting listed quickly and staying there

I usually use the same strategy when I launch a new blog just to get it started. I try not to get too spammy using the same IP address for my blogs so once it’s standing on its own I often remove the link.

Very interesting post there, Tom! However, be careful, as one of my sites got indexed within 8 hours and then got de-indexed.
Search engines are funny like that… ;)

Hi Tom, I am learning a lot. My website has been up for 10 years. We recently built a new site. I am using the trial of Market Samurai off your site. I plan on buying it next week. I see my first page competition. Not too stiff. I am not ranked at all. We changed web host to Weebly. My old site picture is still up on my links. Any ideas? Thanks
