   Good list, but psd Rockstar is actually using a free theme that anyone can use. I installed on my book blog one time and then took it down.

   A great list! Thanks for taking the time to compile it. My favorite would have to be http://contolini.com/chris/
   but when you go to the blog there isn’t really any content. So the design my drive you in but it’s the content that is going to keep you there and coming back. I read a lot of blogs that have bad designs but great content. How many people go to blogs/sites with great design but bad content?

    Thanks for including PCT among these other fantastic designs.

    I look at a lot of these types of posts to find inspiration for various projects – the one thing I really love about yours is that I’ve discovered so many new designs I haven’t seen before.

    These is a great post Tom , some of these designs defy the conventional internet marketing rule of thumb..Not sure if these designs actually work towards teh objective of teh site..any stats on that would help

    This is an interesting selection with a lot of the usual suspects. Lots of very cool graphics. But thats what I would call the list “50 designes with oodles of cool graphics” rather than “the most creative”. Perhaps I have a different idea of creativity, but when I look at the list I get a general impression of “cool but noisy” – the sites have the standard shape and size, standard typography, standard everything except a load of iconography scattered about the background like a teenager’s bedroom.

    clutter = creative, really?

    To me the ones that show the most creativity in this list are the ones where you dont get that feeling of clutter falling out of a closet, but where there is a clear style and purpose emerging – a line, a research, an idea.

    Had a lot of debates back at school as to the nature of art versus design, and what was “creative” versus what was “clever”…

    I guess I have a different notion of creativity, that comes from following a set of ideas and breaking through constraints to create something surprising, interesting, and fresh.
