3 Important Reasons To Network With Other Bloggers!

networking with bloggersI know everyone is talking about commenting on other blogs as a marketing strategy, and I have to agree. Blog commenting would have to be one of the easiest ways to gain new and constant traffic to your blog.

I personally have used it as my primary method of building traffic to this blog. But other than traffic what are the benefits of communication with other bloggers? Surely there must be more to networking with your fellow bloggers than just to see them visit your blog.

I have a whole heap of fellow bloggers in my MSN contact list, I talk to them via email and see them regularly on a couple of forums that I frequent. What are the benefits other than a bit of social chit-chat? Well I can think of three!

3 Important Reasons To Network With Other Bloggers!

  • INSPIRATION
There is nothing more inspiring when it comes to blogging than reading posts about one of your fellow bloggers success! Other than post on their blogs, I constantly get inspired reading the Digital Point forum when I see bloggers post titles such as:

    • I finally made $100 a month
    • Check out my massive traffic jump
    • I made it onto the front page of DIGG

Things like that inspire me. You my readers inspire me with your blog posts! When you succeed you are helping others believe that they can too!

  • ENCOURAGEMENT
This is one thing bloggers are especially good at! Picking their fellow blogger off the ground when he get drained, when one of their projects fail or they don’t hit the targets they were looking for. I remember when I just got burnt out, and considered selling this blog. When I announced that I was selling I had a fair few of my valued readers tell me how much they’d miss my blogging and that it was sad to see me go.

This really made me stop and re-evaluate what I was about to do and it made me decide to keep blogging. And when I announced I wasn’t leaving after all 16 of you left me amazing messages that really encouraged me!

  • OPPORTUNITIES
I can’t even start to list all the opportunities I have had due to just chatting with another blogger over msn. I remember one of the first contest I ever hosted on my previous blog. I was chatting with Ian Fernando and we came up with an RSS competition and invited a couple of other bloggers to join us.

Other opportunities such as ebooks, other contests and guest blogging opportunites have arisen due to just networking with fellow bloggers. The opportunies are there and there are so many of them, what are you doing to make sure you can take advantage of them?

So get out there are start networking with your fellow bloggers. It’s as easy as contacting your peers through their blogs contact form and asking for the MSN or email address. It is well worth the effort and i am sure that you will be able to inspire, encourage and provide opportunities for others also!

What are your thoughts?

I do love networking with other bloggers. Twitter, blog commenting, giving link love, and sometimes chatting with them in messenger.

Some bloggers became my inspiration. Too many too mention. :)

I think opportunities is one of the most important aspect. Connecting with other bloggers will open a to world to you and it’s amazing. It’s the kind of thing you don’t realize until you try it ;)

I do a lot of blog commenting (used to at least) but outside of the comment I don’t seem to connect with many bloggers
I feel that the opportunities you are given by forming relationships is the biggie here, as most people are always looking out to help others out.

Very true, indeed. It’s so hard to do something when you’re not inspired. And I agree with opportunities, as there are really a lot around us just waiting to be discovered.

By the way, I found your post through Hussien’s blog and this is a nice one.

    Thanks!

One of the unexpected joys I’ve received as a blogger is the tremendous amount of advice an encouragement from my brethren.

Most all of the bloggers that I’ve chosen to interact with are friendly, helpful people.

When I’m touched by a blog post, when it resonates, I’ll make direct contact with the blogger and let them know how much I liked the post, and I’ll ask about a guest post exchange.

I pretty much dig my fellow bloggers!

    Cheers

    George

    Tom,

Good stuff! I was just talking to some of the bloggers I am networked with about the benefits of networking with bloggers.

For me, the greatest benefit is the friendship that develops, but most beneficial are the brainstorming sessions. There is nothing like having someone to turn to when you a little bit confused and have them help you solve the issue.

There is nothing like the blogoshpere and the moment you get out there and start networking, you will find this out.

    Peace to the Bloggers!

Selling your blog would ruin it. Simply because your blog has a brand name and a style. That would change if you stopped writing on this blog and I am sure you would lose a lot of readers.

A good example of opportunity from other bloggers is DailyBlogTips Blogging Idol. This competition has given you and I opportunities.

There is something to be said about this subject and I agree that one of the key elements to “form your tribe” of fellow bloggers.

Im only a couple of months into commenting on blogs and stuff. I sure have learned a lot and developed a few friendship along the way.

I think the more connect and develop each others networks the more success we will have.

Man that is probably the THE catalyst for successful blogging, having a network around you!

No one can reach their full potential on their own, having people you can talk and bounce ideas off of, encourage or be encouraged by, etc….is one of the key benefits of networking.

I love networking, I love the people I meet, I love the people I connect with…wouldn’t trade it at all!!
