Weekend Discussion: Is Making Money Blogging Something You Struggle With?
Do you struggle with making money from your blog? Or is it something that comes easy to you? Today I want to discuss making money blogging and how everyone feels about it!
I have recently been chatting with quite a few fellow bloggers on Skype and the one topic that keeps arising is how ‘Make Money Blogging‘ seems to be so hard – and it definitely can be.
So today I just want to know if it something that you seem to be having difficulty with, or are you smashing your targets?
For me, I am comfortable with where I am, but if I am going to reach my goals – I need to really kick it up a gear. Which is why I have a post lined up for next week about ‘why most bloggers don’t make money’ and I just wanted to see if that is something that people are worried about. Or are you just blogging for fun?
So, Is Making Money Blogging Something You Struggle With?

Making money with my site is something that I do struggle with a lot. It seems that it does come easy for others. There are those that do it for fun and actually do make money even though they say that they don’t care about making money at all. I often get frustrated and discouraged by this when I am trying my hardest to grow my blog and podcast and do everything I can to grow bigger yet any attempts to monetize my site don’t work out or give me very little return.
I just find it frustrating that others that don’t want to make money with their sites end up making money and I’m trying to be serious and put all my blood, sweat, and tears into my site yet I’m extremely lucky if I even make a dime from my site.

I’m not struggling to make money from blogging, because I earn money from it fairly easy. The problem is more the amount of money I’m earning.
I’m struggling to earn more than $500 a month. To me, $500 a month is a great achievement, but it’s not a lot of money. I use the money to buy books and all sorts of new products related to my blogging. And I’m happy with it, but I want to be able to reach the next level, $500 +.
What I earn money from is basically affiliate marketing. I write reviews on some products I recommend, and that’s it. I have tested a few advertising options as well like Kontera and Text Link Ads, but they didn’t work that well. I have also had direct advertising (people contacted me for advertising on my blogs), but it didn’t change the fact that I’m still at $500 a month.
I’m trying to improve my writing and my content, hopefully that will be helping me.

Creating a blog, building content is not difficult if you know what are all the basics such as creating free stuff giving away and building a list, but the worst straggle most blogger have (including me) is…
- Getting massive traffic
- Creating funnel in the list campaign
- And lastly, selling stuff….
Well… this has not been easy since I started blogging, although most of my earning come from PPC in yahoo network and Google network where I promote stuff through niche market… blogging for money sometime is a struggle… for me.

Tom,
I truly believe that I’ve the potential of income from my blogs, the problem is making it a reality. I’ve made a tiny amount from adsense, but think I need to offer something different. I’ve thought of other affiliate schemes.
I know what’s lacking in my site is SEO, so I think I should pay it some attention. I look forward to your upcoming post though.

With blogs, the biggest downfall is giving away backlinks to external sites, this can weigh your site down dramatically, but the positive is writing more content which gets you more traffic. Finding the balance between the two is crucial.
Overall making money with blogging is a constant learning game, going out there and finding new techniques and applying them, you need to constantly tweak your site in all areas, as you tweak you get more traffic and you make more money.
I mentioned before I am earning 2k per month, but for me, this is not as much as I would like to earn, I am starting to increase a bit higher now, but my ultimate goal by the end of this year is to be earning a steady 3-5k per month, and then next year perhaps 1k per day, if I can :)

This sounds bad, but I am not worried about making money from blogging as of yet, because, I know its more important to develop excellent information, that people will use and refer back to.

I have been always struggling to earn money from blogging, even if I am a six figure blogger and this is my full-time job. I always set very high goals and struggle to achieve them.
I don’t do this just for the money, because I can afford almost everything I want, but it’s a hobby and I really want to become better day-by-day.

Making money blogging is something that is actually interesting to me. After much learning through trial and error doing internet marketing, I’ve found my level in making money blogging. Ok, I may not be earning what I expected right now but I’m getting there.
