Video: 3 Bloggers Who Know How To Get Pro Bloggers To Respond
Tom Category: Blog Film Festival
If you saw yesterday I posted a video calling on John Chow to be the first guest judge of the StrandOutBlogger Film Festival. Well I am still waiting for a reply from Juhn, but thats fair enough since he has had an overnight stay in hospital.
Well creating video blogs to gain the attention of big time bloggers is starting to become more and more popular. Now that it is becoming a popular means of gaining exposure the key to making sure your call for a Pro Blogger response is successful is to be creative and be unique.
The more successful a blogger is, the more times they will get mentioned in the blogosphere. What are you doing to make sure yours not only gets heard – but responded to?
So here are 3 bloggers that have successfully gained the attention of pro bloggers and the videos that they used!
Blogger 1: Ian Fernando
Ian from IanFernando.com was the pioneer of this method of gaining attention from pro bloggers using video (well he was the first I noticed doing it). It all started with his:
Almost Interview With John Chow
Result? – This video gained a lot of attention across the blogosphere and John Chow decided to post about it on his blog here.
Blogger 2: Jim – TheNetFool.com
Jim from TheNetFool.com is a very recent addition to this form of video blogging, but I must say his tactic is one of the most creative I have seen. Jim created a group of ‘Spoof’ video blogs each of different popular bloggers in the manner that they create their videos.
Here is one of his Pro Blogger Spoofs on Tyler Cruz:
Result? – Tyler was the first to comment the post!
Blogger 3: Suzanne Franco
Suzanne Franco entered the latest version of Blogging Idol (and tied for first place!) She did this by calling on Pro Bloggers to support her.
Here is her personalised message to John Chow:
Result? – John Chow blogger about her in a couple of his posts and saw her dramaically increase her RSS count – and helped her do so well in Blogging Idol.
So you can see that trying to gain the attention of Pro Bloggers can be interesting an fun, and the key is to be unique. And John? When you are feeling better feel free to shoot me an email saying you will be a guest judge for the film festival, or write a blog about me
.

Interesting. Nice post.
I won’t be joining the contest =) Maybe if it was next year.
I think they are all great ways to get noticed I have to say my favorite was Ian’s technique but I can see what Suzanne was doing with hers. As you say this is a viable means to attract people to your blog, great idea.
The video is funny. I’m sure he gets a lot of hits in youtube. That is why he get the post in John’s blog. Well, that is my guess.
I just decided I am in man! Video coming soon!

Dennis Edells last blog post..UPDATED: Would You Like To Sponsor My *Best Blog Review* Contest?
I’ve never used video before to increase my readership and attract attention. Although I see the potiental in this method, I’m just not quite prepared and set up yet to do it.
It seems to get the job done though, and it seems to get the job done quite well. Will you be doing a lot more video blog posts than Tom?

Robin – I can see the benefit in video blogging for certain bloggers and not for others.
I ams till trying to find ‘my blog style’ and testing a few things out…I will continue to do a few more video blogs for the rest of the month, but I didn’t like the response from the first one… a lot less comments then usual.
Wow I bet John Chow appreciated that first one Lol. Not exactly making yourself one of his favorites. That’s a risky video, because if you fail, it just makes you look like an idiot. And makes John Chow hate you.
