One of the reasons I have been to silent here at StandOutBlogger lately is because I have been spending quite a lot of time with Fiona.  Which is why I am excited to announce that this afternoon I took her down to the local park near where I live which has been a place where we have been so many times and has so many memories.

Standing on the pier I gave her a copy of a novel that we both love with special parts highlighted and additional post-it notes with added thoughts – explaining how I felt.

I then proceeded to drop to my knee while asking for her hand in marriage.

She said yes, and has not stopped bouncing and smiling since!

I am so excited, and just wanted to share this amazing moment with you all!

To make the day even better I received a Sumo Beanbag at my doorstep today (thankyou Andrew) which will be our very first piece of furniture when we get married. It’s about 5 foot square and black and I love it! Over the next couple of days I will be testing it and taking pictures and writing a review of it within the next couple of days.

In Limbo

Hey guys,

I’m sorry for the lack of posts especially as my rss count continues to rise! I feel like I have hit a place where I am standing in limbo trying to work out which way I want to head in life – In so many different areas.

First of all, while I have loved blogging and seeing this blog grow, the most I could ever make from it was $200 in one month – when I was putting about 50-70 hours into it. I struggle to justify the time spent. Especially considering I have started a new commission based job at my brothers business and have made over $1,000 in the first week. I guess you just have to weigh up the options and see if things are worthwhile, dig deep down and try to work out what you really want from you life and where you are going to get it from.

My second dilema is that my girlfriend and I have applied for positions  are leaders at a kids summer camp in Canada, and if we are accepted then we will be away from the end of June for over 2 months -and the likelyhood of me being able to find time to post is pretty slim. We are currently just waiting for a final phone interview before we find out if we are accepted.

So I have found myself in a position of what to do with this blog. I mean, I have made so many friends and learnt so much in the time I have run it, but some times you have to let things go -and right now I have to decided if that is what I really want to do with this blog.

There are the options that I can think of:

  1. Just let it slowly die from lack of posting
I really don’t like this option as it wastes all of the effort that I have put into it.
  2.  Post just a couple of times a month to keep it going
The idea is to kinda keep it tickig til I find more time and motivation to try and build this blog into something great. The only thing I don’t like with this option is the fact that it just seems to be buying time before I find myself back at the first option.
  3. Post & Market Hard Til Canada – And Sell
I know that quality blogs can sell for quite a bit of money if they are profitable, so this option is to blog consistently and look for ways to build my revenue so that I can get my blog to a quality level at the beginning of June to start looking for buyers who may be interested in taking this blog to the next level.

As long term readers, you have a vested interest in what happens with this blog. So I would love to hear your thoughts and comments! What would you like to see happen with StandOutBlogger?
